The Chronicle of Higher Education, July, 1992 - An article published in the Chronicle communicated Dr. Davis’ work in the field of financial aid and development of the CASHE Financial Aid Resource System. The NAACP of Montgomery County, MD, June 25, 1991 - Dr. Davis was presented with the NAACP Presidential Award for promoting the higher education of Afro-American youth by providing helpful information. Dr. Davis conducts a series of workshops annually regarding opportunities for obtaining college financial aid for minority students and families. The American Legion Citation of Appreciation, May, 1993 - was given in recognition and sincere appreciation of outstanding service and assistance which contributed to the advancement of the American Legion programs and activities dedicated to the advancement of youth in this country. Distinguished Service Award, October, 1996 - was presented to Dr. Davis by the DEDCMD ASFAA for his outstanding service to the organization and the profession. A "Lifetime Membership Award" was included with this honor. Distinguished Service Award, October 2002 – was presented by Indiana State University (IN) - 2002
